Choose Life Not Death – The Holy Ghost Within Us Is Life
As my husband and I pondered this sin nature we all inherit, his brother joined in the discussion. “It’s like a war,” this former military man intoned, “a war between the carnal mind we are born with and the mind of Christ that we need.” He quickly sketched out the scene. It was pretty gruesome. We had not realized such a battle was being waged within us.
Sin darkens the understanding.
Satan has put his influence everywhere. The temptations and worldly lusts are evident in our everyday walk. But the Holy Ghost continually enlightens our understanding to remove all sin from us. We must destroy the works of the devil, including death.
Because of Christ we can overcome all things.
We are more than Conquerors. When the heart has the light of the Holy Ghost, it can discern between good and evil.
Light of the Holy Ghost There is a volume of thought: some Good, some Evil. We need the mind of Christ.
What we see and hear becomes a part of us. A person is known by his choices, actions, and words: good or evil prevails (see God’s Only Plan). If we choose good as Christ did, Godly action will follow. This is the mind of Christ: he rejected all sin, learning obedience to his Father.

By our mouth we speak life or death, good or evil. The tongue can only be tamed by the Spirit.
Out of the Heart the mouth speaketh.
Have the Heart of God ~ Awake to righteousness and sin not.
With the Holy Ghost, the Word of God shows us the way to Life. Knowing the difference between good and evil, and continually choosing the good like Christ, we put on his mind. By the Spirit we resist the evil and choose the good. No longer under sin, God removes that nature and the warfare begins to cease: we are led of the Spirit. Romans 8:1-39
