Life

His Words on Life

LIFE is the opposite of death. The words of Jesus are life.

From
Matthew

6:25
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your Life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the Life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto Life, and few there be that find it.

10:38-39
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his Life shall lose it: and he that loseth his Life for my sake shall find it.

16:24-25
Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his Life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his Life for my sake shall find it.

18:8-9
Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into Life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into Life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

19:17
And he said unto him,
Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into Life, keep the commandments.

19:28-30
And Jesus said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, that ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting Life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

20:27-28
And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his Life a ransom for many.

25:31-46
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into Life eternal.

From
Mark

8:34-35
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them,
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his Life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his Life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

9:43-48
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into Life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into Life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

10:29-31
And Jesus answered and said,
Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal Life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

10:44-45
And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his Life a ransom for many.

From
Luke

9:23-24
And he said to them all,
If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his Life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his Life for my sake, the same shall save it.

12:15
And he said unto them,
Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s Life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

12:22-23
And he said unto his disciples,
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your Life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The Life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

14:26-27
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own Life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

17:33
Whosoever shall seek to save his Life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his Life shall preserve it.

18:29-30
And he said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come Life everlasting.

From
John

3:14-17
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal Life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting Life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

4:13-14
Jesus answered and said unto her,
Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting Life.

4:34-36
Jesus saith unto them,
My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto Life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

5:24-29, 39-40
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting Life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto Life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath Life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have Life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of Life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal
Life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have Life.

6:26-27
Jesus answered them and said,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting Life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

6:32-33, 35-40, 47-51, 53-55, 61-63
Then Jesus said unto them,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth Life unto the world.
And Jesus said unto them,
I am the bread of Life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, that ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting Life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting Life. I am that bread of Life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the Life of the world.
Then Jesus said unto them,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no Life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal Life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them,
Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are Life.

8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of Life.

10:7-18
Then said Jesus unto them again,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have Life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his Life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my Life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my Life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

10:25-29
Jesus answered them,
I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal Life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

11:25-26
Jesus said unto her,
I am the resurrection, and the Life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

12:23-26
And Jesus answered them, saying,
The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his Life shall lose it; and he that hateth his Life in this world shall keep it unto Life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

12:49-50
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is Life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

14:6
Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his Life for his friends.

17:1-3
These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said,
Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal Life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is Life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

From
Revelation

2:7
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of Life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

2:10
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of Life.

3:5
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of Life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

CONSIDER THIS: How many times does Jesus use the word "life"? How many times does he use the word "death"? What do you think he is all about?

Without you, Jesus, there is no Life.
