Authorized King James Version (1611)
The Authorized King James Version of 1611 was written by holy and learned men commissioned by King James I of England* to translate the Word of God because previous Bible versions were corrupt. These forty-seven men were among the world’s best scholars. PerfectChurch.com stands by the words of its founder, who was personally spoken to by Christ, “Go no farther than the King James.” There are more than 5000 word changes from the King James Version to the new Bible versions.
The King James Version is recognized for its doctrinal accuracy, and is considered a masterpiece of English prose. Spiritually it stands alone.
*King James I is also known as King James VI of Scotland. He was a man of virtue and integrity. He writes “Diligently read his word, and earnestly… pray for the right understanding thereof. Search the scriptures saith Christ for they will bear testimony of me. The whole Scriptures saith Paul are profitable to teach, to improve, to correct, and to instruct in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect unto all good works.” (Basilicon Doron)
(Hostile statements made by Anthony Weldon 25 years after the King’s death, and subsequent rumors about the King, remain unfounded to this day.)
Word & Strong’s Search
Jesus knew the Word of God. The serious Christian, one who strives to be like Christ, must not only read the Word but know it. He or she achieves this by diligent study.
PerfectChurch.com offers Word Search, which is an excellent tool for serious study of the Word of God. Word Search is the Strong’s Concordance*, computerized; a listing of every word in the King James Version. Through searching out a word or phrase, as it is used in the Scriptures, the individual Christian is able to obtain a more complete understanding of the word or subject.
It is the position of PerfectChurch.com that fruitful study of the Bible should not be based on systematic word study only, but must be guided by the Holy Ghost. He leads us into all truth.
*The Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible is named after Dr. James Strong, who published it in 1890. It took Dr. Strong and more than 100 of his colleagues 35 years to complete this work. It is the most widely used concordance ever compiled from the King James Version of the Bible.
Paragraph Format
The Authorized King James (1611) is written in a verse format. Except for poetry, most of today’s writing is presented in paragraph form. PerfectChurch.com believes the paragraph format opens the Bible to better comprehension and understanding. This is the purpose of the Rose Bible. For reference, all chapter verse numbers are retained.
Comparison
John 1:1-14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
